And Here WE GO

So It was the first full week of the Fall semester 201. My week is packed but it does keep me busy for the most part. I am really excited about the classes I am taking. I did a lot of fun things this week. On Monday I went and chilled with t he TKE's a Fraternity. They are really cool. It was be cool to join. But after thinking about it I decided not to rush. It was definitely worth checking it out. On Tuesday I went and saw the NMSU Pride band preform. It was a good time. Then Friday I went and had lunch with Andree and Anthony at Andele's. Then just hung out for the rest of the day. We drove around went to Coldstone.  I had a great time. Then on Saturday night I went to Andree's house for her birthday. That was also a great time. Her family was cool to chill with. I am going to do some studying and wash my clothes today. I am going to take life on week at a time.
Here is some lyrics for a new song I like, think about it:
"They say life is what you make it
When really life is what makes you"

First week on the semester

Well I am back here is Las Cruses. I starting for my Junior year of college at NMSU how crazy is that. It's been a lot different than the other years but what can I do about it. So I have 5 different classes this semester. My classes are Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Sedimentary Stratigraphic, Pre-Calculus, a Gis class and a John Muir class. It's going to be a hardy load of work. Trying to get in the grove of things now. I am excited for what is going to come of this semester. But I don't know what is going to come ha ha. Lets see how next week goes.

The Summer of 2011

How do I starts. My summer was very weird for me. I bet you could tell by the way I talked on here. It was a great, bad, good, sad, fun summer I guess I could say. I had my good and my bad days. I lived with my best friends so that helped a lot. I feel like I did some cool stuff this summer. I tried to stay busy as much as I could. I am thankful for all the support from my family and friends.I will miss them all. I found out to listen to all the advice people give you. But when it comes down to it, I am going to do what I think is right. We will see what happens. This summer I could say was a turning point in my life. After things happen to you, you really start to think. And that what I did all summer. You really look in to yourself. I have learned a lot about myself. I have found what I need to do. You don't know what you are doing till things stop then you look back and go damn why was I so dumb. They say hindside is 20-20 and it is true. There is a lot that is going to be different starting in the fall. I have always been excites to start school. But next semester is going to be different so I am kinda sceptical about it. It not going to be like my last two years in college. So continue reading my Blogs and you can find out. I love life it is the biggest challenge and I am trying to accomplish it.

The Intrepid Internship Experience

Dang I can't believe it is all over. Started out at the mine at the first of the summer and thought it would never end. Look at it now it's gone. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to have an internship. I loved working there this summer. I always like going to work even if I had to get up before the sun was even up. I loved all the people out there. I really learned a lot this summer. I mean I learned about geology, engineering, mining and much more. Working in a mine is awesome and I hope I can do that for the rest of my life. Once you cage down everybody turn different. I learned and herd things I have never even thought of ha ha. But the people out there are hard working and nice.  I was very lucky to have the boss I had. His name was Mike Younger. He was just a great guy. He taught me so much and made it a fun summer. Also get got his degree at NMSU.

Here is a list most of the stuff I did this summer:
Assisted the surveys with surveying panels and belt drives.
Channel Samples Collection.
Core Hole logging using a Gamma Logger
Received training from Mount Sopris on how to use and fix the logging tool.
Described and preparing core samples for assay.
Scoped air holes.
Roof Bolt sampling.
Assisted the Geologist with his normal duties.
Salt Horse Project.

During the went back in to the old works and got some blue halite. Where the back was like 2.5 to 3 feet tall. Which is pretty rare. It is blue due to the exposure of radioactivity. Also we found some glaserite (Aphthitalite) in one of the working areas. Which has never been seen out here in the mines. So we went back and collected some samples. We think we may have one of the largest crystals know.

My internship was a blast. I think I can work there next summer. But I am looking in to some hard rock mines like Colorado or Nevada? We will see where I go from here. Here are a lot of picture to kinda show you what I was doing.  If you have any question about anything ask me I would love to talk about it.

Last full week at Intrepid

This was the last week for the interns at work. I am going to still work a few more days next week. This week was busy getting everything lined out for my final presentation. Had a few great games of golf with Kyle. Looked at and described hundreds of foot of core samples.
On Wednesday had a great talk with Marv. There is no better advice you can take from someone, than a 85 year old man. Then that night I went and saw one of my friends from cruces Donald. He works out at WIPP for the summer. It was a great time and I ending up just crashing at his house that night. On Thursday I looked at hundreds of feet of core. I guess that what geologist do. It was Marty's 27th birthday. We all had a great dinner. On Friday was a nice day. I went to work for a few hours. Then I went in to town to give my final presentation. It went good. There were a lot of big bosses there but it was not that bad. Then kyle and I played the country club. Did not do that much that night. Then Saturday I woke up at 11 found out the pool came in. So I went and got it. Then week took back the bobcat. Finally we started filling the pool. I thought it would be easy but it was not. The pool dumbed water out a few times. But who cares. I had one of my best days in Carlsbad that day. We had cookout and several of my friends were over and we just had a great time. It was my last weekend here. Now its sunday. We tried to drain the pool but there to much water. Then went to my parents house for dinner.  I work three more days at work then I am off. I have one week left here in Carlsbad. I am not sure on my feeling about going back to cruces. We will see.

Yet again another week in dos bag.

A Roof Bolter

Works been busy closing the summer out in a few weeks.
Monday: Worked on AutoCad for most of the day. Also I went underground to take some pictures of    some salt horses.
Tuesday: I logged another core hole and took us around 5 hours. That is something that will put you to sleep. Bill from Dmc named me Bobo cause I sleep a lot ha ha. Can you believe that? That evening Kyle and I played the par 3.
Wednesday: We used a roof bolter and drilled a hole above to see what the ore was like. It not the right way but it was the best cheapest way.
Thursday: Stayed late again because we were taking more roof bolt samples.
Friday: Did not do much at work it was slow. Had a great rain storm that night
Saturday: Woke up at 6 for the Loving Falcon Golf Tournament. Kyle, Austin, Dustin and I were all on one team. We placed 4th in our flight. I had a blast. Then Went to avalon with Cody to do mudding. That what all the pictures are.
Sunday: Cleaned up the house and made it look nice. Also helped Kyle level his yard with a BobCat. We are getting a swimming pool this week. Then played to rounds of the par 3. I did pretty good.

I am loving my job. I wished I did not have to go back to school ha ha. But I kinda want to leave this town. It sucks in this desolate wasteland. I want to get a tattoo when I get back to cruces but I don't know.
