My name is Lucas Middleton and I am 22 years old.I am a college student New Mexico State University This is just a blog about what I do in my Li[F]e. I am doing it mostly so I will be able to look back on my Li[F]e, but also for others to enjoy. My life consists of my best friends and family. So if you make it in my blog then you must mean something to me. I don't know if it is interesting but you can find out on your own.
Well this week was fun. It was my first real week of work. I went around with the surveyors most of the week. It was interesting to me because my dad has been surveying the mines since the 80's. I learned a lot from it. I also went with my boss and he showed me some of the jobs the geologist do at the mines. I am glad that I have been underground every day so far. I am really considering the mining industry to be my career path. Then on the weekend Kyle was out of town. So I spent two days cleaning the house. I also got to hang with Jamie and Josh. That was an awesome time. Then on Monday which I had off I went fishing. I really enjoy fishing even if we do not catch a lot of fish ha ha. The pictures below are of us fishing.
On Monday morning I stated my MSHA training for Intrepid. It was all week long 40 hours of it. It was a long week a bunch of stuff I learned. But I am excited for the rest of the summer working out there. On saturday I loaded and unloaded two truck of rock for my mom. Then I helped Andy move a refrigerator. Then when and got some wood with him. Then that evening I went to Kyle parents house for his Birthday Cookout. Then on Sunday we went out to 6 mile damn and went fishing. We were just fishing with poles and trow nets. We caught probably 50 fish with the nets. It was fun. Monday at Work I went in to the mine.
Well the semester is over now and its the summer. I have to take a math class over the summer so it kinda sucks. This so is going to be long summer. I feel like the is nothing going on in this town. I have been going to the gym 5 days a week and will do that all summer long and next school year. I guess I am going to have to make something to do. I have not done much this week. I had to take a drug test for my job. Well I start my training next week for intrepid potash. I will be working there this summer doing geology work. I went to Amey's birthday party on Saturday night. Sunday I changed my oil in my truck and I got ready for work on Monday.
So I assume you know it Finals week for me at NMSU. I have official made it through my sophomore year in college. I have had a hard week. My girlfriend and I broke up after a year and a half. There is no hard feeling between us and be are still friends. I just need to keep my head up and roll with the punches. So I have been packing up my stuff getting ready to leave on Saturday. I hate moving back and forthwith but i guess that the COLLEGE LIFE FOR ME. Below is a Time-Laspe of me packaging my book to send it to Chegg.
MondayI had my Spanish exam and I woke up at 2:30 and missed it. Luckily it was optional so I did not have to go. Then I took my online Sociology exam.
Tuesday I toke my Fossils final I think I did alright. That night we went to the Pancake supper they do ever semester. I met the president of NMSU what a nice lady she it. Ben took some footage of the madness.
Wednesday I took me Chemistry final I hope I passed that class. Then that night we head over to Farley's to watch Wendell and Chris West preform there set. It was a good time. Below is a video Ben record of it .
Thursday I had my Optical Mineralogy exam. I had to look through a microscope for 3.5 hours at thin sections and identify what mineral where in it.It was a good time it really show how much I have learned. That was my Final exam of the semester. Its crazy that I have been in college for two years. That night I rewarded my self by going to see Thor 3D.
Friday was my last day at work. I worked till 2 o clock. Then I packed my stuff up and put it in to my storage unit. Then I had a really good talk with Emalie. I feel so much better now. Then I hung out with Keegan's family. Then that night we went to the mall for the last time. Then for the rest of the night I packed my truck and cleaned my truck.
Saturday I Moved out all of my stuff form Chamisa. I had lunch with Keegan, Ben and Kellie. Then left for home at 2 p.m. Got home and had a cookout with my family. Then hung out with Kyle, Kim and Cody.
Sunday I just woke up at 5 p.m. Went to my Mom's house to have a Mothers Day dinner.
So for the past few day I have noticed smoke coming over the Organ Mountains. I need to drive around and think. So I headed to the mountains to take pictures. So I checked into it and as of Wednesday it is called the Abrams Fire and it has burned 7,400 acres and it is 40% contained. So I wore a crimson shirt on Wensday to get a free asnmsu tee-shirt. Then on WENSDAY night Wendell McKines had a gig at Farley's. We made cds for him an passed them out there. We could not get in after 11 pm because it is a bar and I am not 21. Then Wen told us to go in and the lady at the door had a list and I told her my name and I got in, I felt special. He did really good live. Lets see what else Wen will bring in the future. On Thursday evening I decide to drive to the Organs to see the smoke from the fire. I took some cool sunset pictures. On Friday I missed my chemistry class and woke up at 3:30 p.m. I went to the NMSU Geological. I won a $450 scholarship and received my $1500 for my research. Science Department Awards ceremony Then that night Keegan and I ate CiCi Pizza and then went and watched Dylan Dog. It was a fun time alright movie. Then just played Halo all night long.Found out that Davon House corner back for New Mexico State University was drafted to Green Bay Packer. Congratulations to him. So Saturday I went to the NMSU Aggies Football Spring Game. Then had dinner at KFC. That night went and saw Fast Five. It was a great movie kinda reminded me of when I was younger and the older Fast and Furious movie were coming out. On Sunday I finished up my sociology paper. Then I spent the rest of the day packing up my room. Well there is one more week left and four finals. I hope I do good.
